About
A consultancy that has to live with its own advice.
Sabia Solutions Ltd works on route to market, operating model, product delivery and company administration. We also own and run three businesses, which is the only qualification we would take seriously in someone else.
Most consulting is sold by people who have never carried the downside of the thing they are recommending. The deck is delivered, the invoice is paid, and the risk stays entirely with the company that has to act on it. That arrangement produces advice which is safe to give and expensive to follow.
We built the company the other way round. Three products sit on our own balance sheet: an applied AI engineering practice, a live UK marketplace and a regulated SaaS platform. Every recommendation we make about pricing, route to market, build-versus-buy or when to stop is a decision we have already had to make ourselves, with our own money on the outcome.
The consulting side covers business development and the operating model that has to support it. In practice those arrive together. A company that cannot sell what it has built usually has a positioning problem; a company that cannot deliver what it has sold usually has an operating problem. We would rather find out which one you have before quoting for either.
We are a small firm. We hold no vendor partnerships that would bias a recommendation, we do not resell software, and we take no commission from anyone we introduce you to. Where an off-the-shelf product or an existing supplier would serve you better than an engagement with us, that is what we will say.
How the group got here
Including the part where a company is closed and a product is shelved.
- 2021
TecPeople Services Ltd
The group starts as a technology services company, delivering platform, infrastructure and DevOps engineering into enterprise and government environments. It is now being wound down in an orderly way, with liabilities settled before closure.
- 2024
Sabia Solutions Ltd
Incorporated on 17 February 2024 for business administration and management consulting. It is now the company that carries the group, holds the portfolio and contracts for client work.
- 2025
The portfolio starts
Easy Tax Digital is built against the HMRC Making Tax Digital APIs, with launch deferred on commercial grounds. SkipHireCompare follows and reaches production. Both sharpened how the group approaches distribution as much as engineering.
- 2026
QAI Labs
The applied AI practice launches under the group, building production AI on infrastructure clients control. It trades, and it is the third entry on the portfolio page.
How we decide things
Evidence over assertion
A claim about a result should be traceable to something a sceptical person could check. Where we do not have that, the page says so rather than rounding up.
Handover, not dependency
The exit criteria are written during Frame, before the work starts. Follow-on work should be a decision you make, not a state you end up in.
Revenue is the first test
A plan that cannot be traced to money coming in or money stopping going out is a preference. We start at the commercial end and work backwards.
Publish the failures
One of the three companies on our portfolio page was built and never launched. It stays on the site because it is the most useful thing there for anyone deciding whether to build.
Say no clearly
Turning down work we are wrong for costs everyone less than discovering it in month three. Each service page carries a list of what that service does not include.
Own the same risk
We fund and run our own products. When we advise on pricing, distribution or whether to stop, it is a position we have held with our own money.
Start with what is in the way.
Most of this work is shaped by the obstacle rather than the ambition. A deal that keeps stalling at the same stage, a process nobody owns, a product that will not sell, a decision that has been open for months. Tell us yours and we will say honestly whether we are the right people for it.
